The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Altidore throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fjordfoot could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Altidore rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fjordfoot moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Altidore will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Altidore displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fjordfoot.
Altidore throws a series of strikes that have Fjordfoot backpedaling.
Fjordfoot fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Altidore manages to avoid it.
Fjordfoot throws a leg kick but Altidore moved away.
Fjordfoot fails in his attempt to clinch.
Altidore lands an overhand right.

Fjordfoot shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Altidore is trying to defend but Fjordfoot finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fjordfoot connects with a nice short shot to Altidore's temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fjordfoot is really struggling to control Altidore but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Fjordfoot seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Altidore for as long as he can get away with.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Altidore can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Altidore uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Fjordfoot has time to react.

Altidore fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Fjordfoot to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Fjordfoot looks to clinch but Altidore throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Fjordfoot taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
