The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lupe drops Silva with a left right combo! Lupe follows him down to the ground into side control.

Silva is rocked!
Lupe tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Silva is still in real trouble! Can Lupe finish him?
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Silva keeping his opponent close.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lupe working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Silva gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva wants to improve his position but Lupe is controlling well.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Silva is concentrating on defense, preventing Lupe from advancing position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silva is trying to stand back up but Lupe is controlling him
Lupe tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silva regains full guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva tries to score with a low kick but Lupe moves his leg out of the way.
Wanderlay Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lupe connects with a good right hand that stumbles Silva. Silva circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Silva takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Lupe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lupe misses with a two punch combination.
Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva falls off balance throwing a combination

and Lupe counters with a left hand that sends Silva to the canvas!

Lupe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lupe throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Silva stumbling backwards into the cage! Silva bounces back off the cage towards Lupe, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Lupe lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Lupe celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
