Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vince Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norbert Schwager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Vince Jones has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Schwager.

Schwager has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Schwager tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.

Schwager breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Schwager moves out of range of the body kick.
Schwager throws a leg kick but Jones sees it coming and checks it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schwager but Schwager pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schwager throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Schwager looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Schwager shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Jones counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Schwager was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Schwager is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Norbert Schwager showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Norbert Schwager is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Schwager might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
