Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darren Jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darren Jones!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Gracie is controlling him

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Jones is defending the position.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gracie slips under a jab.
Jones misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jones tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.

Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.
Gracie stops Jones from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Gracie dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Gracie bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Jones tries to clinch but Gracie moves out of range.
Darren Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gracie slips a straight right by Jones.
Jones throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Jones is defending well.

Gracie is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Jones is trying to escape and Gracie transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Jones is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gracie! Very nice indeed!
