Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abel Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stinson.
Stinson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silva fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Stinson on that attempt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stinson can do anything to dispel that myth.

A head kick lands from Silva that sends Stinson to the canvas. Stinson tries to scramble back to his feet but Silva brings him back down into side control.

It looks like Barney Stinson has been cut.
Stinson is trying to get back to half guard.

Silva stands up and beckons Stinson to his feet.
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stinson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva is looking to slow Stinson down with leg kicks.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Stinson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva lets loose with a powerful body kick. Stinson will feel that in the morning.
Silva dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Stinson. That did some damage!
Stinson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stinson wants it to stay on the feet.

Stinson is trying desperately to land a takedown but Silva is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Stinson.

and Silva counters with a good low kick that Stinson was not able to check.

Silva thuds his shin into the meat of Stinson's side.
Silva fails to land with a series of punches.
Stinson closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Stinson pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva tries to stall but Stinson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stinson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stinson, into his guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Stinson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Stinson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Stinson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva throws a leg kick which misses Stinson's front leg but catches the back leg as Stinson tries to avoid it.
Silva fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stinson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stinson defends it nicely.
Silva tries to bum rush Stinson with a series of wild strikes but Stinson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Stinson uses from the top position.
