PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between nate goehl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slippery Sam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

goehl gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sam connects with a couple of short punches.
Sam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sam is working goehl over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
goehl trying to keep a closed guard but Sam is proving a slippery customer.
goehl really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sam just misses with a punch to the body.
Sam throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Slippery Sam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. goehl looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
goehl avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sam.

goehl is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sam off and has taken his back!
Sam just trying to survive but goehl is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Sam rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Sam wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Sam covering up well under a barage of strikes.
goehl is hanging on to Sam's back as he tries to escape.
Sam breaks goehl's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Sam controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sam stands up over goehl, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Sam! goehl is hurt baaadly! Sam is firing away with more strikes - goehl is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
