PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Guy has closed the distance and engaged Wood in a clinch.

Wood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wood tries to bum rush Guy with a series of wild strikes but Guy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Guy shoots in but no luck this time.
Guy blocks a head kick by Wood.
Wood fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Wood misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guy.
Wood throws a right and a left that Guy avoids nicely.
Guy dodges the punch combination from Wood.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Guy somewhat.
