Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mirko Cro Cop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anderson Romario!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Romario instigates a clinch.
Romario lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Romario should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Romario is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cro Cop is defending well for now.
Cro Cop stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Romario trying to control the position but instead, Cro Cop has worked for underhooks and has pushed Romario into the cage.

Cro Cop pulls guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Romario has eaten all the pies!
Romario throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Romario takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cro Cop controlling the position for now.
Still in half guard, Romario seems content to control.

Romario seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cro Cop does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Romario stops Cro Cop from getting back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Romario.
Cro Cop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Romario as he avoids it easily.
Romario tries to clinch up but Cro Cop circles away and keeps his distance.

Horrible takedown by Cro Cop or perhaps it was just good defense by Romario which made him look bad.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Romario shoots in but Cro Cop avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Romario cracks Cro Cop with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Romario pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Romario tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cro Cop paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cro Cop keeps the fight on the outside.
Cro Cop shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mirko Cro Cop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Romario tries to close the distance and clinch but Cro Cop swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cro Cop takes the fight into the clinch.

Cro Cop has Romario pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cro Cop pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Romario tumbling to the mat - Cro Cop dives into Romario's guard.
Romario has his hands on Cro Cop's head, controlling the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Romario is trying to control the position but Cro Cop postures up.
Cro Cop wants to stand and escape but instead Romario has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Romario drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cro Cop gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Anderson Romario seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Cro Cop decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Romario's guard.

Cro Cop jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Romario walks away with a smile on his face. Cro Cop gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Romario might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cro Cop kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Despite being in the dominant position, Anderson Romario just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Anderson Romario comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Romario has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
