Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, karva perse!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson looks to land a right hand but perse moved out of range.
Horrible takedown by perse or perhaps it was just good defense by Pearson which made him look bad.
Pearson throws a nice looking combination but perse bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
perse is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pearson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
perse throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Pearson to counter with a crisp jab.
Pearson looks to throw the jab but perse is out of range.

perse shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pearson is trying to defend but perse finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
perse perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Pearson wants to get back to his feet.

perse wants to work for an arm triangle but Pearson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

perse uses his free foot to push down on Pearson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pearson.
Pearson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
perse tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Pearson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

perse working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Pearson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by perse! Submission of the night perhaps?
