Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Saigo Kogihiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yumi Goro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yumi Goro will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saigo Kogihiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yumi Goro!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kogihiro closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Goro to the mat! Goro manages to get full guard.
Kogihiro wants to stand and escape but instead Goro has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Goro stops Kogihiro from standing up.
Kogihiro working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Goro.
Goro throws and elbow that misses. Kogihiro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goro's guard. Nice move by Kogihiro!
Kogihiro preventing the sweep.
Goro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Goro looking for a guillotine here but Kogihiro defends easily.
Kogihiro works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Kogihiro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Goro wants to get back to his feet.
Goro makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Goro.
Goro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kogihiro manages to get himself to full guard.
Goro looking to sit in guard and control but Kogihiro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Goro wants to get back to his feet but Kogihiro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Goro pulls Kogihiro in to control the position.

Kogihiro pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Goro is keeping the position for now.
Kogihiro is breathing heavily.
Kogihiro wants to stand but Goro has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Goro has his foot on Kogihiro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kogihiro works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Goro is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kogihiro wants to stand but Goro has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kogihiro has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kogihiro there as he acknowledges the shot.
Goro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kogihiro.
Goro fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kogihiro looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kogihiro takes one to the side of the head.
Goro scores with a hook to the body. Kogihiro takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kogihiro throws the left hand but Goro avoids the punch easily.
Goro rushes Kogihiro with punches - Kogihiro moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Kogihiro goes down! Goro follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yumi Goro!
