Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Parslow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomez comes into the arena with Gangsta's Paradise blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antonio Gomez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Parslow!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parslow connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Gomez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gomez lands with a punch from half guard.
Parslow is looking for a sweep. Gomez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gomez frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Gomez jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Parslow is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Parslow and Gomez has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Gomez in side control, throwing shots but Parslow defends.

Gomez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Parslow has escaped the position, nice work there.
Parslow takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gomez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Gomez tries for a kimura but Parslow is defending well.
Gomez is looking to take a break and control but Parslow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gomez laying and praying for a moment but Parslow takes advantage and regains half guard.
Parslow is looking for a sweep. Gomez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Parslow tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Parslow wants to get back to full guard.
Gomez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Parslow looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gomez looking for submissions off his back.

Gomez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parslow pulls his head out easily.
Gomez is looking for a sweep. Parslow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Parslow working over Gomez with some ground and pound. Gomez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Gomez is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gomez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parslow pulls his head out easily.
Gomez missing with punches from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gomez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Parslow connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gomez shoots and misses
and Parslow counters with a stiff right hand.
Gomez is breathing heavily.
Gomez fails with the takedown

and Parslow counters with a shoot takedown. Gomez fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Gomez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parslow wanted to stand there but Gomez had control of the position.
Parslow working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Parslow stands and steps away. Gomez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Parslow darts in and clinches Gomez up against the cage.
Parslow lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Parslow works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Gomez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Parslow defends well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Parslow postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gomez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Parslow stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gomez clinches but Parslow breaks the clinch

and Parslow counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Parslow is looking to stand up but Gomez won't let him.
Gomez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Parslow is one step ahead there.

Gomez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gomez is looking for a triangle but Parslow pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Parslow dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Parslow lands a right hook to the body.
Parslow misses the jab.

Gomez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gomez showed some decent athleticism there.
Gomez throwing shots but Parslow is blocking nicely.
Gomez wants to control but Parslow is keeping him busy.

Gomez is looking for a kimura but Parslow is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gomez to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parslow trying to control but Gomez postures up.
Parslow keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Gomez is working for a submission of some sort.
Parslow moves into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parslow strikes from his own guard.
Gomez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Gomez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Parslow avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Parslow keeping full guard, as Gomez tries to pass.
Gomez passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Parslow tries to buck Gomez off but Gomez is having none of it.

Gomez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gomez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gomez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Parslow down.
Parslow manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gomez's best efforts.
Parslow tries to roll over but Gomez keeps him under control.

Gomez maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Parslow could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gomez has cracked it and Parslow is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gomez!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Antonio Gomez!
