Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abe Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emong Cordero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Cordero has one foot on Thomas's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Thomas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cordero's guard.
Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cordero swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cordero napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Thomas goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cordero has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Thomas but great work by Cordero.

Cordero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
