Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cross David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Cross David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Roger Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
David fails with the takedown

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
David is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but David is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
David is trying to keep Gracie in close.
David pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.
David looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.
David trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gracie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. David sprawls well initially but Gracie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
David makes his way to full guard. A much better position for David.

Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now David is on top in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells David's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
David throws a big right hand that misses.
David pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now.

David trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

David slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
David has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
David with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

David throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gracie keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully.

Gracie is in trouble now - David has advanced to mount!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Cross David just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cross David will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



Gracie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in David's half guard.
David wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.
David tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.

David pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Gracie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

David has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Gracie wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.
Gracie stops David from standing up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

David gets in close and instigates a clinch.
David misses with a hook from the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
David prevents the takedown attempt.
Gracie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Gracie wants a takedown.
David looks to throw an elbow but misses.

David turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and David manages to end up in side control.
Gracie is not content to let David control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie tries to buck David off but David is having none of it.
David staying calm.
David wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
David cracks Gracie with a big elbow.
Cross David overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
David wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
David is really struggling to control Gracie but he's trying to hold on to the position.
David throws a strike aimed at the side of Gracie's head but Gracie avoids it well.

David swings around for an armbar but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into David's guard.

Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cross David dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

David is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Cross David just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. David defends it nicely.

David working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
David has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Cross David is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

David might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Cross David just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

David closes the distance and clinches.
David prevents the takedown attempt.
Gracie drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cross David has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Gracie.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
David trying to control the position but instead, Gracie has worked for underhooks and has pushed David into the ropes.
David stalling in the clinch.
Gracie wants a takedown but no success here.
Roger Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gracie tries to land knees in the clinch but David avoids the damage to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roger Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think David has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
