The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wright is looking to escape.
McDonald seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
McDonald seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wright does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wright pushes McDonald off looking to stand but McDonald dives back in and keeps control.
Wright tries to get to full guard but McDonald has control of the leg.
McDonald keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
McDonald thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wright's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McDonald moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Wright takes a swing at McDonald's ribcage but misses.
Wright looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McDonald fails with a takedown attempt.
Wright slaps away a takedown attempt from McDonald, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McDonald dodges the punch combination from Wright.
Wright lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Maurice McDonald has been cut.
Wright works the jab nicely.
McDonald takes one to the side of the head.
Wright swinging wildly here.
Wright throws a jab but it's blocked by McDonald.
Wright lands a nice shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kyle Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonald looks gassed!

Wright thuds his right hand into McDonald's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Wright lands a big head kick that sends McDonald tumbling to the mat! Wright takes a step backwards and waves McDonald back to his feet - he wants the finish!
McDonald is rocked!
McDonald tries for a takedown but Wright sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kyle Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maurice McDonald.
Wright feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McDonald sprawling to the canvas! McDonald rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Wright finish him?!
McDonald is still on wobbly legs! Can Wright finish him?
That has opened up Maurice McDonald's cut even more.
Wright flashes McDonald a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. McDonald's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. McDonald crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Wright punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
