Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Percy Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Percy Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Evans misses with a wild combination.
Evans avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Evans scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A jab lands there for Evans.
Cooper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Evans's waist but Evans gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cooper off to one side.
Evans lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cooper circles away quickly and effectively.
Cooper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Evans but Evans pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Evans plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Cooper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Evans defends it nicely.
Percy Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Cooper.

Evans has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cooper's face.
The referee warns Cooper that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Evans is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cooper has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Evans throwing strikes here but Cooper is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Evans lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Evans swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cooper is now in Evans's guard. A big mistake from Evans there, giving up the dominant position!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cooper wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.

Evans looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Evans has his foot on Cooper's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cooper works his way back into a safe position though.
Evans wants to sweep here but Cooper controlling him for the moment.
Evans can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cooper controls the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Evans lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cooper circles away quickly and effectively.

Evans lands with a nice combination. Cooper backs away looking to recover.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Evans fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cooper sprawls well initially but Evans persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Evans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cooper keeps working.

Evans wants to free his trapped foot but Cooper is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cooper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Evans throws a nice looking combination but Cooper bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Evans has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Cooper is trying to keep an underhook but Evans manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Evans wants to control but Cooper is keeping him busy.

Evans stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Cooper has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Evans rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cooper moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cooper drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Evans gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Evans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slapping leg kick lands for Evans.

Cooper shoots and misses

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Evans shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cooper manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Evans avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Evans sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cooper's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Evans is working for a kimura but Cooper is defending it quite comfortably.
Percy Evans overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cooper wants to get back to full guard.

Evans thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cooper's head.

Cooper is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Evans pulls his head out easily.

Evans has picked Cooper up - he's going for a ride! Evans dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Cooper wants to control but Evans is keeping busy.
Evans not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Evans is looking to advance position but Cooper has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Cooper takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Cooper working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Evans turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Cooper off and cradles Evans's limp body as Cooper celebrates with his corner.
