The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Espejo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Espejo misses with a two punch combination.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aliaha.
Espejo throws a nice looking combination but Aliaha bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Espejo fails to land with a series of punches.

Aliaha seems to be working for a kimura but Espejo defends the submission attempt.

Espejo pushes Aliaha away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Aliaha gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Aliaha is trying to get an arm triangle but Espejo is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aliaha has hold of Espejo's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Espejo tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Aliaha cranks the arm and Espejo screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Espejo, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
