Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petri Pakkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Crazy - Gnarls Barkley. Pakkanen has chosen Loost Koos - Pakkasta as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pakkanen jumps guard but Smith stands there with Pakkanen around his waist. Pakkanen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Smith misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Pakkanen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pakkanen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smith smiles and moves away.
Benjamin Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Petri Pakkanen.
Smith throws a right and a left that Pakkanen avoids nicely.

Smith takes the fight into the clinch.
Pakkanen fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Smith tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Pakkanen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Smith thows a big elbow that misses.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Pakkanen has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Pakkanen tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.

Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pakkanen is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Smith frees his head nicely. Oh but Pakkanen has switched to an armbar! Smith is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
