Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jason Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nathan LaVelle!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaVelle gets a takedown into half guard.
Ellis throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Ellis is defending against the submission attempts here by LaVelle.
LaVelle wants to take a breather but Ellis is having none of it.
Ellis tries to get to full guard but LaVelle has control of the leg.
Ellis is working hard here to advance position.
Ellis is trying to stand back up but LaVelle is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round.
LaVelle decides to stand and escape the position.
LaVelle throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ellis.
Ellis moves into the clinch successfully.
LaVelle gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ellis regains guard.
Ellis wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
LaVelle has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ellis to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! LaVelle is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ellis pulls down on the head and he's put LaVelle to sleep! This one is all over!
