Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Brewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Lord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Brewer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micheal Lord!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lord fails with a takedown attempt.
An inside leg kick lands from Lord.
Lord throws a head kick but Brewer moves out of range.

Lord looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Lord trying to control but Brewer is working from the bottom.
Lord being controlled here momentarily.
Brewer lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lord!
Lord tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Brewer trying to control but Lord is having none of it.
Brewer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Brewer looking to control but Lord is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Brewer content just to control the position here.
Lord is looking to improve his position but Brewer isn't that keen on the idea.

Brewer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lord is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lord and Brewer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Lord tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brewer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brewer is looking to take a break and control but Lord is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lord is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
A control attempt from Lord but he's now mounted!

Brewer goes for an armbar but Lord turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lord.
Lord wants to control from the top but Brewer keeps moving.
Brewer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lord wants to control from the top but Brewer keeps moving.
Brewer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lord wants to stand but Brewer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Brewer is trying to control the position but Lord postures up.

Brewer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lord doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lord manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brewer is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brewer wants to control the pace but Lord is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Micheal Lord will probably get the nod.

Lord shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lord showed some decent athleticism there.
Lord drops an elbow to the side of Brewer's head.
Lord thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brewer's head.
Lord seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lord wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brewer keeps working.
Lord is nestled in close to Brewer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Lord trying to advance position but Brewer counters by regaining guard.

Lord trying to control but Brewer is working from the bottom.
Lord trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lord is fighting to break Brewer's control of his arms but Brewer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Lord wants to control from the top but Brewer keeps moving.
Lord is breathing heavily.
Lord would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Brewer is trying to control the position but Lord postures up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lord throwing strikes but missing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lord clinches up with Brewer and pushes him back against the cage.
Lord swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Brewer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lord gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lord wants to get back to striking at distance but Brewer won't allow it.

Lord's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Brewer fails with the takedown

and Lord counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Brewer keeping moving, preventing Lord from controlling successfully.

Brewer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lord can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lord has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brewer is proving hard to escape from.
Brewer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lord manages to get himself to full guard.
Brewer looking to pass the guard.
Brewer wants to control from the top but Lord keeps moving.
Brewer passes Lord's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brewer prevents Lord from standing back up.
Brewer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lord has his hands clasped together around Brewer's back. He's all about the action.
Lord is staying active underneath Brewer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Micheal Lord showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Lord closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Brewer gets back to half guard.
Brewer trying to control from the bottom.
Lord content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Brewer is refusing to be controlled, as Lord sits in half guard.
Brewer wants to get back to full guard.

Lord escapes and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Brewer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lord counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lord.

Brewer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lord doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lord manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Micheal Lord has got the better of the ground game so far.

Brewer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Brewer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lord defends well.

Brewer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lord is one step ahead there.
Lord is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Brewer keeping moving, preventing Lord from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lord misses with a takedown

and Brewer counters with a takedown into side control.
Brewer working the body and head with strikes.
Brewer tries to advance to mount but Lord denies him.

Lord sneaks out the side door and pushes Brewer away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

and Brewer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lord's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lord is trying to hold Brewer in close to prevent damage but Brewer has managed to pass into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Brewer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lord defends it well.
Brewer is just content to waste time from the top position. Lord takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Lord is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eddie Brewer.
Well Lord has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
