PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demian Gaea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickhard Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaea comes into the arena with im a warrior blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaea slips a jab from Smith.

Smith looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Smith not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Gaea is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Smith throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Gaea is holding on to half guard well.
Smith missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Smith working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Smith is working for a submission of some sort.

Gaea tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith is just content to waste time from the top position. Gaea takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Smith chips away with some ground and pound.
Smith passes Gaea's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gaea makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gaea.

Gaea is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith wants to control from the top but Gaea keeps moving.
Smith controls from within his opponent's guard.
Smith slips nicely into half guard.

Gaea is defending against the submission attempts here by Smith.

Gaea is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well.
Gaea utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaea swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gaea working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith.
Smith throws and elbow that misses. Gaea uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Gaea!

Gaea is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Smith is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Smith has escaped and now he's on top!
Gaea is breathing heavily.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaea swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Gaea gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gaea drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gaea as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Smith screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gaea! Nice submission victory there!
