Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Moore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Filipe Martins!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Moore somewhat.
Moore is looking to clinch.

Martins shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Moore manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Martins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Moore is looking to stand up but Martins isn't so interested in that idea.

Moore pushes Martins off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Moore shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Martins is trying to defend but Moore finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Martins wants to get back to full guard.

Moore lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Martins tries to roll over but Moore keeps him under control.
Moore seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Moore looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Martins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Moore is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Martins has hold of Moore's hands but Moore slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Moore lands strikes from half guard.
Moore is keen to just control but Martins is a slippery customer.
Moore looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Martins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Moore prevents Martins from standing back up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Martins tries to roll over but Moore keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Moore connects with a nice short shot to Martins's temple.

Moore stands up out of the half guard.
Moore gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Martins counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Moore!

Martins goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Moore turns into him and now he's in Martins's guard.

Moore got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Moore has managed to get both his arms back between Martins's legs - danger averted.

Moore is looking to work some ground and pound but Martins has wrist control.
Martins keeping moving, preventing Moore from controlling successfully.
Moore thows a big elbow that misses.
Moore postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Moore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martins on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Moore tries for a takedown but Martins circles away easily

and Martins counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Moore!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Moore. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moore wants to control but Martins is having none of it.

Martins is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Moore has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Moore!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Martins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Moore defends it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Moore will probably get the nod.

Moore doesn't manage to clinch there - Martins circles away.
Chris Moore is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Moore has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Martins off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Martins gets caught flat footed, as Moore shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Martins is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Moore rolls with it to try and escape but Martins cranks on the arm and Moore is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
