Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Concrete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niklas Konrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Konrad's choice of entrance music: Keep on Rising. Niklas Konrad will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Concrete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Niklas Konrad!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Konrad moves into the clinch.
Konrad gets through Concrete's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Konrad breaks the clinch.
Konrad moves in looking to clinch but Concrete pushes him off.
Concrete misses with a leg kick.
Konrad swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Concrete circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Konrad looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Konrad lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Concrete circles away quickly and effectively.
Konrad tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Concrete paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Konrad throws a series of punches but Concrete moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Concrete decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Concrete is looking to take a break and control but Konrad is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Konrad is trying to stand up here but Concrete is controlling him well.
Konrad has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Concrete is working away from the top position though.
Konrad is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Concrete stands up and beckons Konrad to join him on the feet.

Concrete throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Konrad was covering up waiting for the punch and Concrete finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Concrete stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Concrete shoots in looking for a takedown. Konrad tries to sprawl out of it but Concrete keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Konrad manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Concrete is trying to control the action in half guard but Konrad is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Concrete is trying to work for a kimura but Konrad is defending well.
Konrad wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Concrete is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Konrad doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Concrete.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Concrete gets a takedown into half guard.
Concrete is pressing down on Konrad's thigh, looking to free his foot. Konrad is holding on for now.

Concrete is looking for a kimura but Konrad is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Concrete to get the leverage.
Konrad is in trouble now - Concrete has advanced to mount!
Konrad bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Konrad throws a sloppy head kick and Concrete moves out of range easily.
Konrad darts in trying to clinch

and Concrete counters with a shoot takedown. Konrad fights it but they end up in guard.
Konrad is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Concrete is looking for a sweep. Konrad is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Concrete is staying active underneath Konrad, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Konrad wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Concrete uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Concrete looking for a sweep. Not yet Concrete, not yet.
Konrad really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Concrete. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Konrad tries to clinch but Concrete moves away

and Concrete counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Konrad's guard now.

Concrete has gone for a leg lock! Konrad slips out almost immediately though and dives into Concrete's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Konrad stands and steps away. Concrete gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Konrad manages to escape and get back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Concrete stays in close to Konrad's body and controls the position.
Konrad wants to stand up but Concrete is controlling him.

Concrete stands up and waves to Konrad to follow him.
Konrad fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Konrad's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Konrad duly obliges.

so Concrete counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Concrete gets to his feet - Konrad follows without any prompting.
Konrad tries to clinch but Concrete moves away

and Concrete counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Konrad!

Concrete looking to control but Konrad is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Konrad takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Concrete has control of Konrad's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Konrad regains control of the situation pretty easily.

James Concrete is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Concrete just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Concrete steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Konrad.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Concrete.
Concrete is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Konrad will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Konrad is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Concrete has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee asks Concrete politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Concrete prefers to stall for the moment though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Concrete showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Concrete, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
