Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Mako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Verdell Jones III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glenn Mako!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Verdell Jones III!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones III has closed the distance and engaged Mako in a clinch.
Mako is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Mako tries to circle away but Jones III has him pinned against the cage.
Jones III can't find room to land a body shot as Mako controls the action.
Jones III goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mako prevents it.
Jones III's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mako bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jones III misses with a takedown attempt - Mako sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mako stalks Jones III and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones III's face. Jones III staggers backwards, shaken.
Mako throws a right and a left that Jones III avoids nicely.
Mako lands with a nice combination. Jones III backs away looking to recover.
Jones III fails to land the takedown.
Glenn Mako has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Verdell Jones III.
Jones III shoots in but Mako avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Mako connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mako has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jones III tries to close the distance and clinch but Mako swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mako throws a series of punches but Jones III avoids them all with ease.
Jones III is looking to clinch but Mako is avoiding it.
Mako swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones III.

and Jones III counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mako!
Mako is looking to improve his position but Jones III isn't that keen on the idea.
Jones III won't let Mako get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Mako controls the position.
Jones III is landing with some decent strikes but Mako is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Mako is working to get back to half guard.

Mako holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Jones III tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones III misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Mako knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones III on the ground.
Mako tries to reverse the position but Jones III maintains control.
Jones III cracks Mako with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mako can't escape the position.

Mako wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Jones III misses with a head shot.
Mako is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones III has a good base and remains in mount.
Jones III looking to finish Mako with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mako!

Jones III throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Mako is looking to get to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones III throws a sloppy strike and Mako uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Mako has ended up in Jones III's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones III lands a good elbow from the bottom.
Mako content to stall in guard here.
Mako wants to pass the guard but Jones III is keeping the position.
Mako will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mako is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Verdell Jones III will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mako scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mako works over Jones III's head and body with a nice combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones III missing with a left hand there. Mako was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mako lands the left hand.
Mako drops Jones III with a beautiful combination! Jones III stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mako is looking for the KO!
Glenn Mako is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mako lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jones III is rocked!
Verdell Jones III seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones III is breathing heavily.

Mako keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mako lands with a nice body punch.
Mako throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Jones III colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Mako as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Jones III is left battered and dazed whilst Mako and his camp cheer!
