Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Riku Rikki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pate Pillunaama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rikki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rikki shoots for a takedown but Pillunaama saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pillunaama closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pillunaama uses his free foot to push down on Rikki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rikki.

Rikki is in a horrible position here. Pillunaama smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Pillunaama is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rikki can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Pillunaama takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pillunaama is trying to stick to Rikki's back but Rikki is turning into Pillunaama. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pillunaama's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rikki.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pillunaama is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Despite being in the dominant position, Pate Pillunaama just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pillunaama is trying to trip Rikki. He has hold of a leg but Rikki is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pillunaama persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
