Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alcuid Francois!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francois shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Growes but Growes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Growes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Francois wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Francois is trying to improve his position.
Francois struggling a bit here.
Growes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Francois to his feet.
Growes shoots in and bounces Francois off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Growes gets to his feet - Francois follows without any prompting.
Francois shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Growes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Francois tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Growes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Growes is controlling the pace.
Francois wants to get back to full guard.
Francois looks gassed!

Francois is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Francois is trying to maintain the position but Growes is very close to passing his half guard.
Francois is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Francois tries to hold on but Growes postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A nice elbow there by Growes.
Growes swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Francois is now in Growes's guard. A big mistake from Growes there, giving up the dominant position!
Growes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Francois drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Growes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Francois has Growes in his guard.
Growes wants to pass the guard but Francois is keeping the position.
Francois working a defensive guard but Growes manages to pass into side control anyway.
Francois tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Growes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Francois gets the takedown into side control.
Francois gets to mount! Growes was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Growes sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Growes wants to control but Francois is keeping busy.
Growes manages to get to full guard.
Growes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Francois is controlling him.
Growes has his feet on Francois's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Growes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Francois swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Growes counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Growes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Francois throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Francois is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Growes frees his head nicely. Oh but Francois has switched to an armbar! Growes is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
