Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Hammett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boom Tree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammett comes into the arena with For Whom The Bell Tolls blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tree thows a left - swing and a miss!
Tree takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Hammett clinches up against the ropes.
Tree misses with some punches.
Hammett jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tree walks away with a smile on his face. Hammett gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tree stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Hammett misses with a wild combination.
Hammett uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tree.
Hammett tries to land a front kick but Tree steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hammett looks to score with a jab to the body but Tree is just out of range.

Tree lands a big head kick that sends Hammett tumbling to the mat! Tree takes a step backwards and waves Hammett back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hammett is rocked!

It looks like Kirk Hammett has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tree misses with an uppercut. Hammett saw that one coming.
Hammett takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Oh Hammett is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Tree decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hammett's guard.

Hammett throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tree was covering up waiting for the punch and Hammett finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tree pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hammett is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tree is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tree has escaped and now he's on top!

Boom Tree is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hammett is in all sorts of trouble here.

Tree is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Hammett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tree tries to avoid it but Hammett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tree to the ground. Tree escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kirk Hammett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tree looks to land a combination but Hammett avoids it well.

I would just about give that final round to Boom Tree.
I've got Tree winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
