The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randolph pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mrkela is out of range and Randolph settles back down.
Mrkela throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Randolph throws a looping overhand right but Mrkela ducks down to avoid it.
Mrkela slips under a jab from Randolph.
Mrkela throws the kick towards the body but Randolph avoids it.
Mrkela doesn't manage to clinch there - Randolph circles away.
Randolph misses with a low kick.
Randolph's corner calls for a 1-2. Randolph obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mrkela throws a series of punches but Randolph avoids them all with ease.
Mrkela shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Randolph manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Randolph looking for a sweep. Not yet Randolph, not yet.
Randolph has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Randolph manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mrkela is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Randolph locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Mrkela is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sly Randolph!
