Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, yudzi Kawaguti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexei Vestuvich!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vestuvich throws a right hand that Kawaguti ducks under and follows up with a left that Kawaguti also avoids with ease.
No luck for Kawaguti with that takedown attempt.
Kawaguti shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vestuvich sprawls well. Vestuvich wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kawaguti gets slowly back to his feet.
Kawaguti tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kawaguti displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vestuvich.
Vestuvich misses with a jab, cross combination.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kawaguti is trying to hold Vestuvich in close to prevent damage but Vestuvich has managed to pass into half guard.

Vestuvich is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kawaguti is trying to maintain the position but Vestuvich is very close to passing his half guard.
Vestuvich throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kawaguti might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vestuvich wants to work for an arm triangle but Kawaguti is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Vestuvich uses his free foot to push down on Kawaguti's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kawaguti.

Kawaguti tries to get back to half guard but can't.

I looks like Vestuvich might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Despite being in the dominant position, Alexei Vestuvich just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vestuvich fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kawaguti avoids it really well and circles away.
Vestuvich looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Vestuvich fails to land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexei Vestuvich dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kawaguti tries to control Vestuvich's body but Vestuvich pushes him off. Kawaguti squirms to his side and now Vestuvich has his back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vestuvich has managed to slip his arm under Kawaguti's chin. This could be all over... yep, Kawaguti is tapping out! Submission win for Vestuvich.
