PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Preston Schmidli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Darwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmidli comes to the cage accompanied by Tenacious D - Tribute. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Preston Schmidli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Victor Darwin!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidli tries a low kick but Darwin avoids it.
Schmidli showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Darwin.
Schmidli takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Darwin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Schmidli keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Schmidli misses with a body kick.
Darwin stuns Schmidli with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Darwin swats away the attempt to clinch by Schmidli.
Schmidli tries to close the distance and clinch up but Darwin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Darwin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Schmidli.

It looks like Preston Schmidli has been cut.
Schmidli fails in his attempt to clinch.
Darwin moves out of range of the leg kick from Schmidli.
Darwin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Darwin scores with a shot to the body.
Darwin cracks Schmidli with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Schmidli is breathing heavily.
Good shot there by Darwin.

Schmidli is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Darwin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice uppercut lands for Darwin. That snapped Schmidli's head back.
Oh Schmidli is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Darwin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schmidli moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Schmidli seems to have got his legs back now.
Darwin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Darwin drops Schmidli with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Schmidli looks back up at him and smiles so Darwin waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Darwin lands a right hook to the body.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Darwin knocks Schmidli out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
