Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Franklin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marshall Moss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Moss or perhaps it was just good defense by Franklin which made him look bad.
Moss shoots for a takedown but Franklin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Franklin displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Moss loads up on a big right hand but Franklin slips the punch.
Franklin misses with a few strikes there.
Some wild striking there from Franklin.
Franklin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Moss moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Moss avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Franklin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Franklin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Moss tries to close the distance and clinch but Franklin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Moss gets a takedown into half guard.
Franklin manages to get to full guard.
Moss slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Moss drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Moss jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Moss trying to control but Franklin is working from the bottom.
Moss is stalling in the full guard.
Moss trying to control the position from guard on top but Franklin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Moss lands a couple of digs.
Moss is looking to work some ground and pound but Franklin has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Franklin throws a combination. Moss tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Moss shoots in for a takedown but Franklin shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marshall Moss. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moss is looking to clinch.
Paul Franklin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moss closes this distance looking for a takedown but Franklin circles away.
Moss is breathing heavily.
Franklin throws a series of punches but Moss moves out of range.

Moss closes the distance and pushes Franklin back into the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Franklin stops a takedown attempt from Moss.
Franklin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Franklin is trying to break the clinch but Moss has him pressed against the cage.

Franklin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Moss blocks a head kick by Franklin.

Moss shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Franklin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Moss tries to advance position but instead Franklin slips a leg back in to half guard.
Franklin gets full guard.

Moss drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Franklin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Moss has Franklin in his guard.
Franklin looking to pass the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Moss is looking for a triangle but Franklin pushes his legs off easily.
Moss looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Moss pushes a forearm under Franklin's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Franklin is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marshall Moss!
