Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khalil Malla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dudley!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dudley shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dudley keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Malla is trying to stand up here but Dudley is controlling him well.
Dudley prevents Malla from improving his position.
Malla is trying to stand back up but Dudley is controlling him
Malla is trying to control but can't.
Malla is looking for a sweep. Dudley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Malla avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dudley.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dudley drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dudley stands up from Malla's guard - Dudley perhaps looking for a knockout.

Dudley decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Dudley decides to return to a standing position.

Dudley has closed the distance and engaged Malla in a clinch.

Dudley gets control of Malla's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dudley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Malla trying to control the position from guard on top but Dudley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dudley looking for a guillotine here but Malla defends easily.
Dudley looks gassed!

Dudley will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Dudley manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Malla wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Dudley.
Malla is trying to stand up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dudley looking to land elbow strikes but Malla uses the position to regain half guard.
Dudley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Malla knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dudley is taking a breather. Malla says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dudley wants to pass to mount but Malla is defending the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dudley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dudley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Well, if Dudley is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Malla looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Dudley tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Malla.
Dudley is stalling here. Malla is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dudley seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Malla has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dudley can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dudley is trying to control Malla's posture but Malla avoids it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dudley tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Malla avoids the attempt from Dudley to control.
Dudley avoids a series of strikes thrown by Malla.
Malla looking to control but Dudley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dudley wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Will Malla go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Dudley is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Malla off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Malla tightening his grip on Dudley, looking for the choke.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dudley looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dudley tries to roll but Malla sticks to his back.
Malla gets his hands free as Dudley looks to control.
Malla wants to control but Dudley is keeping busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dudley just looking to survive in the bad position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dudley trying to control the action but Malla just sinks the hooks in.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Dudley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Dudley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Malla swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dudley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Malla wants to stand but Dudley is controlling the position.

Malla is trying to keep Dudley in close.
Dudley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Malla. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dudley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dudley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Malla manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Malla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dudley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dudley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Malla is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dudley is aware though and is defending well.

Dudley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dudley gets to his feet. Malla looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Khalil Malla has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joe Dudley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dudley rushes Malla and presses him up against the cage.

Joe Dudley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dudley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
