Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Zeitzer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frank Dux!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zeitzer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dux is looking to clinch but Zeitzer is avoiding it.
Dux cracks Zeitzer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Dux lands a nice leg kick that just misses Zeitzer's sensitive parts.
Dux wants to land a leg kick but Zeitzer is out of range.
Dux with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Zeitzer to score with a decent uppercut.
Dux looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Zeitzer lands with an overhand left.
Dux throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Zeitzer is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zeitzer leaves Dux with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dux fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Zeitzer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Crunch! Dux slams his shin into Zeitzer's torso.
Dux drops Zeitzer with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Zeitzer looks back up at him and smiles so Dux waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Zeitzer is rocked!
Dux fakes the body blow, causing Zeitzer to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Zeitzer goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frank Dux!
