Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hurricane Bowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and alberto roberto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). roberto has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! alberto roberto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
roberto swats away the attempt to clinch by Bowers.
Hurricane Bowers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bowers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bowers instigates a clinch.
Bowers breaks the clinch.
Bowers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but roberto moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bowers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bowers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. roberto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bowers closes the distance and pushes roberto back into the cage.
Bowers turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
roberto is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
roberto tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bowers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bowers decides to stand up, so the ref orders roberto to his feet.
Bowers has closed the distance and engaged roberto in a clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bowers has picked roberto up - he's going for a ride! Bowers dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Bowers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down roberto for as long as he can get away with.

roberto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bowers pulls his head out easily.
roberto tries to roll over but Bowers keeps him under control.

Bowers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
