Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Vipers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Umbogo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis Umbogo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dennis Umbogo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Vipers.
Vipers in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Umbogo struggling a bit here.
Umbogo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vipers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Vipers content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Umbogo sneaks back into half guard.

Vipers is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Vipers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Matt Vipers just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Vipers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Umbogo but Umbogo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vipers is taking a breather. Umbogo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Vipers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Umbogo defends it well.

Vipers chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Umbogo can pounce on him.

and Vipers counters with a single leg into guard. Umbogo didn't expect that.

Umbogo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Vipers kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Vipers.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vipers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
