Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers digs a good hook to Johns's body.
Powers lands a jab to Johns's midsection.

Powers gets caught flat footed, as Johns shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Powers looking to control.
Johns postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Powers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johns is controlling him.

Johns drops back looking for a leg! Powers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Powers manages to kick Johns off! Johns jumps back into Powers's guard.
Powers is controlling Johns's posture.

Johns drops back, looking for a kneebar! Powers looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Powers looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Powers!
Powers is looking to take a break and control but Johns is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Powers throwing shots but missing, from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Powers wants to control but Johns is keeping him busy.
Powers wants to stand but Johns has his arm trapped.
Powers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johns keeps working.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Powers cracks Johns with a right hand to the side of the head.

Johns is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Powers keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Johns has closed the distance and engaged Powers in a clinch.
Powers lands a hook to the side of the head.
Powers lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Johns is breathing heavily.
Powers misses with a short punch on the inside.
Johns blocking some punches.
Johns changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Powers fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Johns walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Johns gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Powers.
Johns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Powers is fending him off so far but Johns persists. Nope, Powers circles away and we're back to standing.
Powers throws a good cross that connects.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Powers thuds his right hand into Johns's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Johns is rocked!
Powers throws a hook but Johns blocks it.
Oh Johns is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Powers.
Johns seems to have got his legs back now.
Powers drops Johns with a straight right hand, right on the button! Powers follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
