PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Wiggin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coleman comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Tread On Me By Metallica. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronnie Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Wiggin!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wiggin tries to avoid it but Coleman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wiggin to the ground. Wiggin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Coleman could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Coleman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Coleman showed some decent athleticism there.

It looks like Andrew Wiggin has been cut.
Coleman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wiggin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Coleman wants to work for an arm triangle but Wiggin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Coleman wants to sweep but no luck.
Coleman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Coleman tries to get out of the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Coleman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wiggin sprawls well. Wiggin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Coleman gets slowly back to his feet.
Coleman scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Wiggin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coleman feints and as Wiggin raises his hands in defense, Coleman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Coleman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wiggin looking for a guillotine here but Coleman defends easily.

Coleman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Coleman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Coleman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wiggin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Coleman, into his guard.

Wiggin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Coleman kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Coleman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wiggin was covering up waiting for the punch and Coleman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wiggin is looking to stand up but Coleman isn't so interested in that idea.

Ronnie Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Coleman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wiggin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Coleman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Wiggin is refusing to be controlled, as Coleman sits in half guard.

and Coleman counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Coleman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Wiggin is looking to stand up but Coleman isn't so interested in that idea.
Coleman wants to control from the top but Wiggin keeps moving.
Wiggin has momentary wrist control but Coleman slips an elbow through the middle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Andrew Wiggin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ronnie Coleman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wiggin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Wiggin pushes Coleman off looking to stand but Coleman dives back in and keeps control.

Coleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wiggin keeps working.

Well Coleman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
