Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Motta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Motta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thor Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz shoots in and drives through. Motta sprawls well.
Ortiz ducks under a wild hook from Motta.
Motta throws a hook but Ortiz blocks it.
Ortiz moves out of range of the strikes.
Ortiz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Motta.
Ortiz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Motta tries to avoid it but Ortiz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Motta to the ground. Motta escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A swing and a miss from Motta.
Ortiz moves out of range as Motta strikes.
Ortiz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Motta.
Ortiz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Motta sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ortiz somewhat.
Ed Motta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thor Ortiz.
No luck for Ortiz with that takedown attempt.
The fighters circling - Motta throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motta throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Motta throws a hook but Ortiz avoids it easily.
Motta misses with a few strikes there.
Motta throws the left hand but Ortiz avoids the punch easily.

Motta misses with an uppercut.
Nice defenses there by Ortiz.
Motta is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Motta throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice uppercut there from Motta.


It looks like Thor Ortiz has been cut.
Motta scores with a nice strike.
Motta works Ortiz's body with a nice hook.
Ortiz ducks under a wild hook from Motta.
Ed Motta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Motta misses with a hook.
Ortiz takes one to the chin there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Motta looks to land a right hand but Ortiz moved out of range.
Motta throws a looping overhand right but Ortiz ducks down to avoid it.
Ortiz moves out of range of the strikes.
Motta lands a lovely overhand right.
Ortiz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Motta sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ortiz somewhat.
Ortiz fails to land the takedown.
Ortiz is trying desperately to land a takedown but Motta is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ortiz.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ortiz walks into a straight right hand from Motta.
Ortiz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Motta lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Motta as he jumps to the side.
Ortiz moves out of range as Motta strikes.
Motta stuffs the takedown.
Motta lands a two punch combo.
Ortiz looks gassed!
Ortiz shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Motta lunges at Ortiz with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ortiz's hand.
Motta throws the left hand but Ortiz avoids the punch easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ortiz.
Motta misses with a double jab.
Motta works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Motta throws a hook but Ortiz avoids it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Motta looks to land a left hand but Ortiz moved out of range nicely.
Motta lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Motta stuffs the takedown attempt from Ortiz. Ortiz gets slowly back to his feet.
Motta thuds his right hand into Ortiz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Motta misses with a hook. Ortiz ducked under it nicely.

Motta lands a left and a right that send Ortiz crashing to the mat, dazed. Motta thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Ortiz is rocked!


That has opened up Thor Ortiz's cut even more.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Motta lands a nice looking body shot.
Motta cracks Ortiz with an open hand slap.
Ortiz is still on wobbly legs! Can Motta finish him?
A telegraphed right hand from Motta misses the target.
Ortiz seems to have recovered his senses.
Motta throws out a loose jab but Ortiz uses good head movement to avoid it.

Motta cracks Ortiz with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Motta has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ortiz to stand back up!
A big right from Motta misses.
Ortiz fails with a takedown attempt.
Ortiz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ortiz on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ortiz defending well as Motta loads up on a big left hand.
Motta with a hook.
The fighters circle momentarily. Motta darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


The cut above Thor Ortiz's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
A jab from Motta finds it's way through Ortiz's defenses.
Motta drops Ortiz with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Ortiz! Motta dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ed Motta!
