Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Ung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Saint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Ung has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kevin Ung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Saint!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Ung blocks the low kick.
Saint looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Saint throws a head kick that misses.
Ung avoids the head kick by Saint.
Saint throws a head kick but Ung moves out of range.
Saint tests Ung's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Ung shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ung was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ung content just to control the position here.

Ung seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Saint for as long as he can get away with.

Ung with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ung decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Ung closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ung works to advance to full mount. Saint defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Ung moves to take his opponent's back.
Ung controlling the position well here. Saint rolled but Ung kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Ung decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ung slows the pace down in half guard.
Saint is breathing heavily.

Ung's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ung changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Saint tries to avoid it but Ung manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Saint to the ground. Saint escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ung is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Saint's half guard.

Ung stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Saint to get to his feet.

Ung decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ung takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Ung decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Ung pushes Saint up against the cage in a clinch.
Ung can't get the takedown.
Ung tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Ung. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ung turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Saint pushes Ung away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ung gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ung tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ung has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ung scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Saint to see if he's OK.
Ung works to advance to full mount. Saint defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Ung looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ung breaks from Saint's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Ung controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Ung throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Saint darts in trying to clinch

and Ung counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Saint's guard now.
Saint can't keep his opponent in guard - Ung advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ung postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Saint to stand up.

Ung changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Saint looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ung takes a little break here. Saint wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Ung is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saint can do to turn this around?
Saint takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ung working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ung slows the pace down.

Ung passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Saint!

Ung feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ung shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Saint manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ung stays in close to Saint's body and controls the position.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ung, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
