The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Young moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Young showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Abbas.
Abbas attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Young shoots in but no luck this time.
Abbas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Young.
Abbas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Young fails with the takedown.
Young chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Abbas can pounce on him.
Abbas throws the left hand but Young avoids the punch easily.
Young checks the leg kick nicely there.
Abbas lands a jab to Young's midsection.
Young fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nate Young. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Young shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Abbas is in trouble now - Young has advanced to mount!
Young seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Abbas is holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abbas is squirming around, avoiding Young's attempts to control the action.
Abbas is in all sorts of trouble here.
Young can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abbas is looking to escape.
Young unloads with some shots from mount but Abbas bucks and avoids them well.
Young prevents Abbas from getting the reversal.
Abbas wants to hold on but Young pushes him away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Young is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Abbas is forced to tap! Great finish!
