Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and O Fadda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with Bate pesadão blaring out of the sound system. Kevin Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kevin Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, O Fadda!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fadda is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Fadda is defending the position.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fadda moves into full guard.

Fadda had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gracie defends it easily.
Gracie has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fadda is proving hard to escape from.

Fadda manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Fadda jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gracie manages to avoid the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fadda has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Gracie!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gracie can't escape the position.
Gracie tries to lock up and control but Fadda gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gracie is working to get back to half guard.
Gracie slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fadda wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well.

Fadda is trying to work for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.

Gracie looking for submissions off his back.

Gracie tries to roll over but Fadda keeps him under control.

Fadda is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fadda is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fadda might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gracie kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gracie passes to side control.
Gracie misses with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Fadda gets back to half guard.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Fadda makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fadda.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Fadda is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fadda manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Fadda's guard.
Fadda is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Gracie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Fadda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away.

Kevin Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of O Fadda.
Fadda tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gracie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fadda somewhat.

Gracie scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
O Fadda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Gracie connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fadda momentarily.
Gracie lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Gracie moves into range and connects with a jab.

Gracie moves into the clinch successfully.

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fadda is breathing heavily.

Gracie is pressing down on Fadda's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fadda is holding on for now.
Gracie prevents Fadda from improving his position.
Fadda is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fadda is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Fadda is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gracie in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Fadda tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gracie!
