Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ilya Tsymbilar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thanh Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ilya Tsymbilar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thanh Son!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsymbilar looks for a takedown but Son sprawls well.
Tsymbilar shoots in for a takedown but Son shows good takedown defense.
Tsymbilar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Son circles away.

I looks like Son might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Tsymbilar gets caught flat footed, as Son shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tsymbilar isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Son stacks Tsymbilar on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Son!
Tsymbilar pushes Son away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Son gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tsymbilaris looking to pass into half guard but Son pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Son is in guard.

Tsymbilar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Tsymbilar looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Son passes into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A lull in the action here as Son stalls from top position.

Thanh Son showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Son rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tsymbilar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ilya Tsymbilar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ilya Tsymbilar.
Well Son has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
