Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Atreides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krac Wanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atreides comes to the cage accompanied by HERE WE GOOOOO!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Atreides!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Krac Wanov!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atreides tries to clinch up but Wanov circles away and keeps his distance.
Wanov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Atreides.

Atreides gets the takedown into side control.
Atreides trying to control the action but Wanov is working from the bottom.

Atreides is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wanov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Atreides thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Atreides closes the distance and clinches up with Wanov, looking for a takedown. Atreides pushes Wanov against the cage but Wanov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Atreides shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wanov is trying to defend but Atreides finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Atreides stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wanov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Atreides lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Atreides.

Atreides shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wanov sprawls well. Wanov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Atreides gets slowly back to his feet.

Atreides dives in and grabs Wanov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wanov pushes down on Atreides's head and hops out.

Atreides has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wanov avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Atreides tries to pull guard but Wanov holds him up against the cage and eventually Atreides drops back down to his feet.
Wanov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Atreides.
Wanov lands with a right to the head.
Atreides jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wanov walks away with a smile on his face. Atreides gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Atreides works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Atreides closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Atreides lands in his opponent's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Atreides goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Wanov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Paul Atreides seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A clash of legs there as Atreides blocks the low kick.
Wanov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Atreides fails with a takedown attempt.
Wanov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Wanov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Atreides sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Wanov counters with a left and a right that stings Atreides.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wanov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wanov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Wanov throws a low kick, looking for Atreides's leg but Atreides calmly moves out of range.

Atreides tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wanov just stands there and leans against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Wanov scores with a nice short uppercut.

Atreides changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wanov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wanov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wanov gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Wanov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Wanov lands with a hook. Atreides tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Krac Wanov seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Atreides jumps guard but Wanov stands there with Atreides around his waist. Atreides gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Atreides is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wanov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Atreides has hold of one of Wanov's legs. Wanov is fighting the takedown attempt but Atreides gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Wanov has Atreides pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wanov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krac Wanov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Wanov lands the left hand.
Atreides shoots and misses

and Wanov counters with a single leg into guard. Atreides didn't expect that.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wanov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Wanov wants to control from the top but Atreides keeps moving.
Wanov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wanov in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Wanov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Atreides wants to control but Wanov postures up.
Atreides is not content to let Wanov control the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wanov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atreides keeps working.
Wanov is pressing down on Atreides's thigh, looking to free his foot. Atreides is holding on for now.
The fighters are battling for position here. Atreides manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Atreides is looking for a triangle but Wanov pushes his legs off easily.
Wanov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Atreides is proving hard to escape from.
Krac Wanov has got the better of the ground game so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wanov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Atreides is on top in guard.
Wanov is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Atreides drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Atreides jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Atreides not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wanov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Atreides drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wanov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wanov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wanov!
Atreides is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Wanov is looking for a kimura but Atreides is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wanov to get the leverage.
Atreides has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wanov is working away from the top position though.

Atreides tries to roll over but Wanov keeps him under control.
Wanov scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Wanov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Wanov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Atreides has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wanov has managed to get both his arms back between Atreides's legs - danger averted.
Wanov lands a couple of digs.

Wanov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wanov lands a nice short elbow.

Atreides is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wanov defends well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Krac Wanov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wanov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
