The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hossa gets caught flat footed, as Pieru shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pieru trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Hossa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Pieru wants to pass the guard but Hossa is keeping the position.

Pieru avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hossa had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pieru is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hossa Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pieru's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pieru cracks Hossa with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
