PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hen Broon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kammy Karzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karzie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Architect - DJ Davey B. Kammy Karzie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hen Broon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kammy Karzie!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karzie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Broon's guard.
Broon wants to sweep here but Karzie controlling him for the moment.
Karzie controls from within his opponent's guard.
Broon thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Broon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Karzie controls the pace.

Karzie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Broon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Karzie has Broon in his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Karzie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Broon trying to control but Karzie is working from the bottom.
Broon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Karzie holds on and takes a little breather.
Broon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Karzie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Karzie is on top in guard.
Karzie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Broon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Broon wants to get back to his feet but Karzie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Broon is looking for a triangle here but Karzie uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Broon takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Broon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Karzie prevents Broon from escaping the position.
Broon is trying to improve his position.
Broon is trying to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Karzie just content to control the position.
Check out the look on Karzie's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kammy Karzie dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Broon throws the left hand but Karzie avoids the punch easily.
Broon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Karzie throws a leg kick but Broon sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Karzie takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Broon swings for the body but Karzie moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Karzie.
Broon pushes Karzie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Karzie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Karzie is working Broon over with some ground and pound from side control.

Broon is looking to reverse the position.

Karzie stands up and beckons Broon to his feet.

Karzie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Broon to the mat! Broon manages to get full guard.

Broon is trying to keep Karzie in close.
Karzie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Broon wants to stand up but Karzie is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karzie trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Broon manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Broon wants to get up but he can't break Karzie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Karzie has his hands on Broon's head, controlling the position.
Broon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Karzie is proving hard to escape from.

Karzie looking for a guillotine here but Broon defends easily.
Karzie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Broon manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kammy Karzie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Karzie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Broon punching from the bottom.
Karzie wants to pass to mount but Broon is defending the position.

Karzie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Broon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Broon is trying to get back to full guard.

Karzie is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karzie is trying to control. Broon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Karzie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Karzie looking to finish Broon with some ground and pound. This is bad for Broon!

Karzie prevents Broon from getting the reversal.
Karzie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kammy Karzie has got the better of the ground game so far.
Broon has given up his back here.
Karzie just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Karzie looking to break Broon's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Broon remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Karzie will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Karzie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Broon rolls, trying to escape but Karzie keeps control of the position.
Karzie is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Karzie has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Broon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Karzie gets his hands free as Broon looks to control.
Broon is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Karzie.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Broon trying to control the hands but Karzie won't let him.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kammy Karzie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Karzie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
