Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugo VillaBoas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward has chosen Blur - Song 2 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Josh Ward is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VillaBoas uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Ward leaves VillaBoas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ward gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows VillaBoas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
VillaBoas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
VillaBoas stands and throws Ward's legs to the side, diving into side control.

VillaBoas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

No joy there for Ward, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
