Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Elias Cordero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Fischster!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Fischster misses.
Cordero looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cordero shoots for a double leg takedown but Fischster sprawls well. He's pushed Cordero's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fischster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cordero tries to avoid it but Fischster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cordero to the ground. Cordero escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cordero bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Fischster's head.

Fischster pushes Cordero off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Fischster moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Fischster shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Fischster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cordero throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fischster was covering up waiting for the punch and Cordero finishes the takedown easily into guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

You can see the frustration on Fischster's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fischster can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fischster takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cordero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fischster lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cordero at a distance.
Fischster misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cordero lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
