Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Chronic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santos comes to the cage accompanied by The Black Lodge. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos checks the leg kick nicely there.

Chronic pivots, looking for a leg kick but Santos is out of range and Chronic settles back down.

Santos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chronic moves away.
Chronic buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Chronic is looking to chop away at Santos's legs.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chronic.
Patrick Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Chronic makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Chronic takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Chronic changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Chronic is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Santos's shoulder. That is not cool.

Chronic is desperately trying to improve his position but Santos has a good base and remains in mount.
Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Chronic is squirming around, avoiding Santos's attempts to control the action.
Santos is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chronic is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Chronic throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Chronic sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Santos is trying to control the action in half guard but Chronic is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Chronic is looking for a sweep. Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Santos passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Chronic!
Chronic is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dustin Chronic will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Santos is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Chronic cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

It looks like Patrick Santos has been cut.
Chronic postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Santos looks a forlorn figure.

The referee warns Santos that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Chronic cracks Santos with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chronic controlling the pace for now.
Santos tries to reverse the position but Chronic maintains control.
Chronic has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Santos's face.
Santos is in a horrible position here. Chronic smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Chronic pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
