Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Single Ladies (Put a ring on it). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Harris!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A jab from Harris misses.
No luck for Harris with that takedown attempt.
Harris scores with a nice head shot.

Harris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jackson to the mat! Jackson manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Harris looking to sit in guard and control but Jackson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Harris's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Harris scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Harris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Harris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jackson circles away quickly and effectively.
Arthur Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Harris closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jackson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jackson is trying to get back to full guard.
Harris is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Harris might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jackson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Harris throwing shots but Jackson is blocking nicely.
Harris prevents Jackson from improving his position.
Harris is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Harris.
Arthur Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Harris.
Harris shoots for a takedown but Jackson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Harris misses with a wild combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Harris dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jackson tries a head kick but it misses.
Harris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harris gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson thows a body shot but no joy.
Harris shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.

Harris shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Arthur Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Harris.
Horrible takedown by Harris or perhaps it was just good defense by Jackson which made him look bad.

Jackson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Harris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Harris postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jackson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Harris, into his guard.
Jackson won't allow Harris to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Harris is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Harris has Jackson pulled in close to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Arthur Jackson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jackson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Harris, into his guard.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Harris is on top in guard.
Harris postures up in Jackson's guard and throws a big left but Jackson blocks it.

Harris drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Harris has Jackson in his guard.
Harris is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harris wants to sweep but no luck.

Jackson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jackson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Harris, up you get!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Harris blocks the body kick.
A jab from Harris misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Arthur Jackson.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
