PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Marko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dario Bodoque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Get Back - Ludacris. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dario Bodoque!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marko does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Bodoque thows a leg kick but Marko checks it
and Marko counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bodoque misses with a double jab
and Bodoque takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Marko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Marko takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marko takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bodoque throws a left and a right that both miss

and Marko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bodoque's guard now.

Bodoque has his feet on Marko's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Bodoque swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Marko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bodoque throws a left and a right that both miss
and Marko counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Marko checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Marko fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bodoque on the side of the head.
Bodoque looks gassed!
Marko dodges the punch combination from Bodoque.
A low kick from Bodoque is predictable there
and Marko counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Marko changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Marko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dario Bodoque seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marko walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bodoque checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Bodoque throws a predictable looking body shot

so Marko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Marko passes Bodoque's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Marko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Marko seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Marko not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Bodoque taking some punishment here, with Marko in his half guard.
Marko wants to pass the guard but Bodoque is defending well.
Marko throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Marko throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Marko uses his free foot to push down on Bodoque's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bodoque.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bodoque holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Marko tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Marko throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Bodoque has his hands clasped together but Marko breaks the hold and Bodoque is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Marko!
