The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quincy throws an overhand right that lands on Ruggiero's shoulder, as Ruggiero tries to avoid the shot.
Ruggiero throws out a loose jab but Quincy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ruggiero scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Quincy prevents Ruggiero from improving position.
Quincy gets back to half guard.
Ruggiero knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quincy on the ground.
Ruggiero tries to pass to full mount but Quincy defends it.
Quincy wants to improve his position but Ruggiero is controlling well.
Quincy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Quincy looking for submissions off his back.
Ruggiero winds up and cracks Quincy with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ruggiero not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Ruggiero working over Quincy with some ground and pound. Quincy looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Quincy won't allow Ruggiero to pass to mount.
Ruggiero wants to stand up but Quincy has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Quincy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ruggiero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ruggiero's back!
Quincy has got one arm under Ruggiero's chin. This could be trouble... Ruggiero trying to control the other hand but Quincy gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Ruggiero has tapped out! The fight is over!
